Dear Nora

Dear Nora,
You are a beautiful six year old. In 2 days you start first grade. Its hard to believe that is even possible. We always call you the sweet one. Sweet describes you really well. Most of the time you just go with the flow of things. Never complaining or giving a hard time. Not long ago you told your dad what your plans were for the following day after school. You told him the first thing on your list was snuggle time with dad. See what i mean, sweet. You really melted his heart with that. You and Jack are buddies. You get along really well and i think you two will always be good friends.
You had been enjoying dance class. We love to call you our tiny dancer we took a break now since your brother Henry was just born. But after school gets going, if you still have the desire, we will continue with that. We live having you a part of our family. First grade will be a good year for you.

Dear Ava

Ava you are so sweet! You are almost 5 years old and we have decided to send you to Kindergarten this coming school year. I was thinking of having you wait until you were six, but you seem ready and really want to go. I think I just wanted to hold you back because I can't believe how fast you are growing up. The other day I took you and Jack and Nora over to a friends house to be babysat. All on your own you packed a bag full off toys and snacks for Jack. When I dropped you off Jack started to cry and you ran and got your bag and started offering him things. I walked out the door smiling. Because I knew that Jack would be just fine with you taking care of him. And he was. You are always a big helper like that. I love your imagination and your fun personality. You got your shots for Kindergarten and you were so brave. You were happy that they rewarded you with a sucker. Right now I think your favorite people to play with are your cousins. You really have a lot of fun with your younger cousin Claire.
Last week we were over at Peyton Roberts house playing and he told me he was in love with you. I laughed, but was shocked later when you told me that he kissed you in the back yard! We all had a good laugh and I reminded you that the only boy I want to see you kiss for a LONG time is Dad! You are a beautiful girl and I am enjoying watching you grow up.

Dear Maddie

Dear Maddie,
Wow! You are six. Six in a half to be exact! You are at school right now finishing your last few days of Kindergarten! The last six years have been amazing watching you grow. It has been a really good year for you. You have loved being in school. I have loved hearing about how much you have learned. You are reading really well now. It's great...at bedtime you want to read to me now...it's a fun change!
You are taking piano lessons from Crystal Cahoon. You are doing well, even though sometimes you give me a hard time about practicing. We are looking forward to your first recital. You are playing "Under the Sea" from The Little Mermaid" and "Circle of Life" from the Lion King.
You really seem to like music. You know every word to most Taylor Swift songs. I love when we are driving somewhere and I hear you singing along with me to the country radio station. I'll enjoy it now while you will still listen to country music with me.
Last weekend you went with Dad and me to see Aunt Becca in May Show. Mom was in May Show when she was in high school. I though you were old enough to sit through it and really enjoy it. You were really good. It is fun to have you old enough to be able to do some fun things with. I realize how much I miss you being young. But on the other hand I am really enjoying each stage as you grow up. It is fun to see you make friends. You and Lauren Farkas have become really good friends this year in Kindergarten. I am glad that you have had each other and I really hope you get to be in class together next year too. You are also really lucky to have a primary class full of girls. You are especially close to Christine Headrick and Eris Foutz. It's fun to watch you form these relationships!!
You are doing really well in school and I am looking forward to having a really fun summer with you and your siblings!!!
I love you! Love,
Mom

A Journal for my kids

Dear Maddie, Ava, Nora, and Jack,
I am not very good at keeping up with things in life. I have scrapbooks of you that are partially finished. I have pictures galore that are unorganized on my computer. I have memories from when I was younger..reading journals that my mom had kept and being able to laugh and know some of the things i said or did as a child. You are growing so fast! Life is chaotic and busy. You are precious, you are smart, you are funny. As much as I want to my mind is not remembering all the moments as much as I would like. So this journal is for you. All of you. So when you are grown we can sit together and laugh and never forget these moments! I love you!
Love, Mom
